In recent years, Mark Grant’s popularity has been growing amongst house fans that dig its more deep, sexy and soulful edged sound.  Catching the tail end of Chicago’s Cajual Records reign of fame prompted Grant’s production rise, having worked with well-respected producers such as Green Velvet, Glen Underground and Johnny Fiasco.  On the home front, Grant’s local following grew as a result of his Monday night “Boom Boom Room” residency at Wicker Park hot spot Red Dog, described by some as the city’s best, longest running house night, as well as [the now defunct] Mad Bar’s “Pleasure Trip” Friday night event.  Grant’s mix CD for Cajual entitled A Taste of Cajual received critical acclaim as well as his recent mix compilation for San Francisco’s OM Records (the label which helped prompt Mark Farina’s global expansion) has also received praised reviews in many of the top, national dance music publications.  A local star on the rise-indeed.  Also on the bill is Julius (3 Degrees).
