Have you ever wondered
how a regular DJ transforms him or herself into a “superstar DJ”
(besides obviously adding the word “superstar” to their name)? Well
here’s the answer: put out a mix exactly like this one. Sounds
easy, right? Well, first you need to convince Cajual, one of
Chicago’s hottest house labels to let you have your way with their
entire back catalog. And once you do, you still need to figure out
how to blend all those wonderful moments together.
Chicago’s own Mark Grant
proves himself deserving of the world class status by getting a
crack at the lengthy Cajual roster including artists like Cajmere
and the Chicago Connection, and then using his own turntable skills
to tie them up in a nice, neat package. Examples abound throughout;
check how easily the pounding bass and hooky chorus of Green
Velvet’s “Answering Machine” flows into GU’s “House Music Will Never
Die”. A Taste of Cajual is by far one of the most explosive
house CD’s to come out in a long, long while. |
